OWNER & FOUNDER

Sherry started BBTB in 2012 following three decades of accounting and human resources experience. Over the past ten years, BBTB has grown from a one-woman show in her upstairs loft to a thriving accounting firm that supports 15 employees and serves over 150 clients. Sherry loves to spend time with her three grandchildren (and one on the way!): Sanders, Beatrice, and Pearce.

VICE PRESIDENT

Morgan joined the BBTB team in 2017 following a brief career as a biologist focused on coastal restoration in Mississippi following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Morgan has a bachelor’s degree in marine biology and a master’s degree in urban planning, both from Texas A&M University (gig ‘em!).  Morgan’s role at BBTB includes managing the team and planning for strategic growth to continue to provide top-tier services for clients.

Planned Career Path: I thought I was going to be a killer whale trainer at Sea World.

Favorite part of BBTB: “I love watching our clients grow their businesses and achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. It takes a lot of hard work and risk to put yourselves out there – and our clients are crushing it!”

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Isabel joined the team in January 2015 as Sherry’s first employee. Isabel hails originally from Venezuela and is our company fashionista. When she’s not working with clients, there’s no question that you’ll find her coasting on the lake in her boat with ‘80s music playing…she could quote any Phil Collins or Police song for you!

SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER

Kim joined the team in January 2019 and has over ten years of accounting experience. Kim has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in recreation administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She’s a proud UGA alumnus and rarely misses one of her Bulldawgs’ games. The outdoors and gardening are her happy places, and her day is incomplete without a piece of Dove chocolate.

Planned Career Path: I thought I would be an Athletic Director at a college and/or manage a city's Park and Recreation department.

Favorite part of BBTB: “My favorite part of working at Business by the Book is partnering with creative entrepreneurs. Truly, their vibrant, artistic views inspire me every day, and I hope I can bring organization, financial literacy, and competency to their firms and allow our clients to share their true passion and talents!”

OFFICE MANAGER & PAYROLL COORDINATOR

Erin joined the team in August 2019 and has over 25 years of accounting experience. She is the backbone of BBTB; her responsibilities include management of our internal software, general office administrative support, and all payroll and payroll tax responsibilities. Erin is a highly talented artist, and many of the team have Erin’s pet portraits in their homes.

Hobbies: Oil painting, weight lifting, and reading

CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

Briggi joined the team in October 2021 as an Account Manager before transitioning into the Client Services Coordinator role in early 2024. Briggi attended the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega and decided to make it home with her husband, Ian. Briggi loves a good card game with friends and her Chaco sandals. You’ll often find her working with a hot cup of tea!

ACCOUNT MANAGER & DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL AFFAIRS

Danielle joined the team in November 2021. Before joining the BBTB Team, Danielle worked in the Residence Life office at the University of North Georgia. In addition to her accounting duties, she is the company’s social butterfly and plans all our staff social events. Her love of hosting extends into her free time, a perfect day would be having friends over for dinner with some Phase 10 after. You won’t find her working without music playing and a Diet Coke on standby.

Planned Career Path: Fashion Merchandiser

Favorite part of BBTB: “I enjoy seeing our clients' work and talent through their projects and getting to know them personally. I strive to simplify their financials, so they can breathe a little easier.”

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Ian joined the team in March 2022. Prior to working with BBTB, he was an accountant for the City of Gainesville, GA. Though he originally hails from Michigan, as a UNG alumni, he, too, has made Dahlonega home with his wife, Briggi. Ian loves college football and is likely the biggest soda water fan you’ll ever meet. His ideal nightcap would include a good, quality cigar!

Bucket List: Going to the Michigan v. Ohio State game at the Big House

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Sydney joined the team in September 2022 and has 10 years of accounting experience. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Georgia before making her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sydney is a music lover and quite a singer herself (though she would never tell you) and part of her church choir. On a day off, you’d likely find her trying a new recipe or working in her garden with Billy Joel in the background!

Favorite Music: Billy Joel, The Beatles, Jamie Cullum

Favorite part of BBTB: “I love getting to know my clients on both a professional and personal level. We support our clients in a professional capacity which then benefits them in their personal lives as well.”

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Kylee joined the team in July 2023. Like Ian, she hails from Michigan but now calls Dawsonville, Georgia, home. Her original career plan was to be an interior designer. She’s our resident green thumb and runs her own flower business with her family and pup, Jack. See her beautiful work @paradise.blooms.bar on Instagram.

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Desiree joined the team in February 2023 and has over 13 years of accounting experience. Accounting was always her planned career growing up. Desiree loves a good concert and all types of music from country to rock. She loves to hike and plans to do one in all the National Parks- 4 checked off so far! Her day isn’t complete without an Alani Nu drink or…two.

Bucket List Item: Visit all 429 National Parks

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Brooklyn joined the team in February 2023 and has both a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting. She originally thought she would be a neo-natal nurse, but accounting was the perfect fit for her. During her spare time, Brooklyn loves to do anything active, whether it’s Crossfit or camping or kayaking! A perfect night in would be complete with a good book and a cup of peppermint tea.

Couldn’t Live Without: I could not start my day without a cup of coffee. Just plain black coffee is all I need to start having a great day.

Favorite part of BBTB: “We get to provide our clients with accurate financial reports while helping them progress towards their business goals. I think it is super unique to be able to work with interior designers on their bookkeeping. I'm always excited to help them organize the numbers of what is happening in their business.”

PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR

Laney graduated with a degree in Public Relations from Kennesaw State University. Before joining BBTB, she worked as an Account Manager for a home furnishings vendor, servicing interior designers. She is extremely excited to develop and launch the procurement support program at BBTB so that our clients can focus on what they love doing most — design! Laney loves Diet Coke, Taylor Swift, and watching anything on Bravo.

Favorite Vacation Spot: At the beach with her family

ASSISTANT ACCOUNT MANAGER

Christie joined the team in August 2023 and worked in banking before joining BBTB. She is a meme queen and minimum 2 cups of coffee every morning gal! You’ll likely find her fishing or cooking while singing along to the current country hits when she's not working.
